Recent flooding in Nepal inspired us to build FloodWatch. Our goal is to use satellite imagery and geospatial data to identify potentially affected areas, infrastructure, and isolated communities, helping responders make faster, data-informed decisions during disasters.

What it does-FloodWatch uses AI and satellite imagery to detect flood-affected areas and identify potentially damaged infrastructure, helping teams respond faster.

How we built it-Built with React, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, AI-based analysis, satellite imagery, mapping tools, and OpenStreetMap data.

Challenges we ran into-Integrating satellite imagery, ensuring reliable flood detection, handling limited data availability, and identifying potentially affected infrastructure were our main challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of-We built FloodWatch to combine AI, satellite imagery, and mapping data to help identify flood-affected areas and potentially at-risk infrastructure.

What we learned-We learned how to integrate AI, satellite imagery, and mapping technologies to address real-world flood monitoring and disaster response challenges.

What's next for Untitled-We plan to improve AI accuracy, integrate real-time satellite data, enhance flood damage mapping, and expand FloodWatch to support faster disaster response worldwide.
