The Pudding
The importance of an organization's vision is just the first step. The proof, as they say, is always in the pudding—and anyone can make pudding. When everyone is using the same ingredients, what matters is how that pudding is made.
If I am rewarded with a chance to demonstrate what I can create, μTube will be the engine. It will be the first in a series of platform expressions that replace layers of allowance with layers of incentive.
For example, anyone can create an account online almost anywhere, disguise or impersonate their identity, and try to scam you—for fun, for profit, or for whatever reason they wish. The ability for anyone to create an unfair advantage in this manner is inherent to the systems that were built. As those systems have iterated, so too has the spectrum of abuse, both in the types of unfair advantage and in the responses to them.
This is a problem I've had no choice but to confront directly, and it's a very interesting one—one that I believe can be addressed in a novel way through more, not fewer, allowances that are paired with incentives.
The world in which we live and laugh, work and play will always be an imperfect world, and there will always be those who choose to act without concern for the negative consequences their actions have on others. This is the cost of freedom for all.
My theory is that giving people the same set of choices, but with an additional layer of motivation, will result not simply in fewer instances of this behavior, but in the formation of a new culture built around the value of choice itself.
