Inspiration

The inspiration for TripBuddy came from the common problem of people finding it difficult to plan group trips. Whether it's deciding on a destination, agreeing on a budget, or splitting the costs, there are many factors that can make group trip planning a challenge. We wanted to create a tool that would make it easier for people to plan group trips and take the stress out of the process.

What it does

TripBuddy is a trip planner that helps users to decide on venues, select events, agree on a budget, keep track of expenses, and calculate the amount owed to each person. Users can create a trip and invite their friends to join, and then collaborate on planning the trip together.

How we built it

TripBuddy was built using Figma and Adobe-illustrator

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we ran into was creating a seamless user experience for finding an event to go to, inputting, and tracking expenses. We had to ensure that the app was intuitive and easy to use, while also being accurate and reliable in calculating the expenses and splitting costs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating a well-finished mobile app interface within the constraints of time.

What we learned

Through building TripBuddy, we learned a lot about creating a user-friendly app, and the importance of user testing and feedback in creating a user-friendly and effective app. We learned to collaborate as a team.

What's next for TripBuddy

In the future, we plan to add more features to TripBuddy, such as the ability to book accommodations and activities directly through the app. We also want to expand our user base to include other group travelers beyond just college students. Additionally, we plan to incorporate machine learning algorithms to provide more personalized suggestions for users based on their preferences and past trip data.
