Inspiration

This idea was birthed from my desire to follow longevity and lifehacker enthusiasts, live a clean and healthy lifestyle, and accomplish my goals on a daily basis.

Feeling like you are maintaining or sliding backwards in your hopes and dreams can feel defeating.

But routines and habit forming can be hard to manage in today's busy world. This is true especially for those that have a full-time job and family.

I wanted to build something where people didn't feel like they couldn't do the things in their head due to mental fatigue at various times of the day.

This is for the people who battle cognitive overload when coming home or felt too tired to think in the morning to remember to drink a glass or water, get sunshine, or whatever their daily goals may be.

I wanted to create something simple and easy to follow for users that would engage them into practicing the routines or habits. We all may scroll past a new routine on social media, but wish in our heads we had the time or energy to do it.

Now you can stop scrolling and start doing.

What it does

We overhaul the typical todo/checklist concept by allowing a user to:

  • Create routines -- groups of tasks for a specific purpose. This encourages what I like to misspell: "flo"
  • Create Smart Triggers to encourage engagement into routines/tasks -- rather than skipping, ignoring, forgetting...
  • Create a community where users can engage in successful living/checking off daily goals.

How we built it

Using Bolt! This app is 100% built with Bolt and compatible with Web, Android, and iPhone devices!

Challenges we ran into

Time

This was really my biggest challenge. I started late as I was evaluating a new technology and how it could be placed in my app. Ultimately, I ran out of time for that and instead built the MVP of my idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Results Despite Time Constraint

I started late -- I spent approximately 2 days development time on this. But putting my head down for these 2 days I can say I am proud of getting most of the big my ideas out into this app.

What we learned

Bolt is a chance to build a great MVP

Using Bolt is a great way to iterate quickly. As ideas flowed, crafting them into prompts was a good way to see what worked and what didn't. What I built in 2 days would have taken more than a single engineer weeks to build. We should take advantage of these technologies to test the limits of our ideas.

AI changes quick, even a month

I believe Bolt went from good to incredibly good. I had played around with some prompts before the hackathon started, but when I started fresh again in late June, there was a noticeable quality improvement.

What's next for TriggerFlo

A variety of improvements

  • Testing each implementatinon of Smart Trigger
  • Putting real state behind the app; allowing users to create an account and sync across devices
  • Put a real API/backend behind the community section as well as moderation
  • Add an indoor-location trigger, powered by BLE or UWB devices
  • General UI/UX improvements, bug fixes, etc.

Marketing

I will be building a form for my own use. But I also need to hear feedback from people to build it out to a certain extent. I'll be doing some marketing of the idea and gather feedback before I spend a lot more time on it.
