When I created this skill, I knew I’d personally find it useful, but I never thought I’d be using it so soon! I’m starting the third week of a bad cold that has progressed to bronchitis. In managing my symptoms, I am taking a decongestant, a cough syrup, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and acetaminophen. Each of these has a different dosing frequency. Track My Dose has been a huge help in managing these medications. In fact, when I had to switch from an every 12-hour cough syrup to an every 4-hour one, Track My Dose made the change easily. If I’m not sure whether I can take another dose of one of these drugs, I ask Track My Dose, “Can I take another dose?’ and the skill will ask whose doses to check and the name of the drug. It then tells me the time of the last dose and whether enough time has passed so another dose can be taken. If it’s too soon, it tells me when I can next take a dose. It’s been a big help!

Track My Dose is still in the review process at Amazon and hopefully will pass before the deadline. My previous 2 skills were certified within one day, but Track My Dose is my first using the APL, so I’ve had to fix some things and resubmit it a few times. Whether it gets certified before the deadline or not, I will follow through to get it certified so it can be available to help others when the need arises. This is the kind of skill that you enable and save for a rainy day!
