Touch Grass

Inspiration

We wanted to make a website that gets people out of there rooms and for people to go meet new people and have fun doing so with events they actually want to go to.

What it does

The website has a live map that has pins of when and where events are happening. It also allow users able to add there own events to invite people. It also has a profile that you can set up.

How we built it

We used python, html, css, javascript, and sql on visual studio code and then uploaded the files to Git Hub to combine all the code together.

Challenges we ran into

When we tried to combine all of the different parts of the codes together, the codes were not lining up because we had different types of programming styles trying to all code 1 big project. When we tried to intergrade them together we got a lot of errors and had to go tweak every part of the code to make it all fit together.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Make the website working. Also allowing people to touch grass together.

What we learn

What we learned when people with different programming style's their code does not work together easily. We also learned that how to open and use a map in our code. Another thing we learned was technology should pull us outward, not inward: Most apps are designed to trap your attention inside a screen. We learned that digital tools can actually be engineered to push people back into the physical world, turning passive screen time into active, real-world experiences.
