Since submitting The Cortex, I’ve improved the prototype’s core memory and connection system.
Captured thoughts are now stored locally in the browser, so they remain available after refreshing or reopening the site. This keeps the experience private because the contents are not sent to an external service.
I also replaced the original randomized connection values with a consistent scoring system based on shared concepts and meaningful word overlap. As a result, the same two thoughts now produce the same connection score every time.
These improvements make The Cortex more persistent, explainable, testable, and useful as a private visual thinking tool.
