The Bird And The Whale Story

This is a world effect in which the user can walk through the story frames. While moving through each frame the user can read the story. This comes with music which also indirectly tells the story.

Inspiration

I got inspired by different lenses that I saw while using Snapchat.

What it does

This lens reveals a story.

How we built it

Firstly, I created the textures and assets for the lens using photoshop. Then I created this lens on Lens Studio by watching tutorials on Youtube.

Challenges we ran into

I found it a little difficult to find the plane tracking feature in Lens studio. And also there are fewer tutorials related to this. I thought it will be easier if there was any kind of patch editor in Lens studio to connect different things quickly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that, I completed this very meaningful lens project where children's aswellas elder people can go through this and feel the story.

What we learned

I learned many things, and more importantly about the surface tracking in Lens studio.

What's next for The Bird And The Whale Story

I'm thinking to add mode interaction in each frame of the story with some motion t elements.

This lens was created from a basic story idea that I got from an Indian regional(Tamil) movie named "96". A song in this movie that is used as background music in this lens depicts a love story between a bird and a whale. From this idea I generated this walk through storyline lense.
