Inspiration
The game was inspirited by Mario 3D world and flappy bird.
How it works
The goal of the game is try to move to the position of the green cube showing on the platform. Three levels was designed for the game during the process of developing. How to play: Arrow Up & Down: Iterate through the gamestates Enter key: Selects gamestate in main menu Space key: Jump W key: move forward S key: move back A key: move left D key: move right Mouse: rotates the camera around ESC key: Pause / resume game Hold Q key: time reversal
Challenges I ran into
Applying GLSL shader to render the models shown on the screen. Text rendering in 3D world.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It was a school project developed in about 3 months. Me and 4 other team members did a lot of work on this game. My contributions in the game include the developing the time rewind feature, AI design, text rendering feature, level design for the first level, framework implementation, etc..
What I learned
I learned how to use OpenGL to develop a video game by applying shaders and got an opportunity to develop a rewind system.
What's next for Thanatos 2
More game modes Cutscenes Power-ups Tutorial Rebindable controls Settings menu toggle sounds More level variety Boulder chases you Crumbling building Shadow mapping Textured enemies More models
