Being able as in -being perfectly normal and able- meant nothing when I encountered a deaf lady at the campus who was in need of help and feeling helpless at the same time to lend a hand. Spending two hours just trying to understand what she wants and the effort exerted made us both feel helpless. What she needed was very simple (showing her how to send a text to her friend.
