Inspiration

We all have important tasks to remember, but sometimes ordinary reminders are not enough. Notifications can get lost among other alerts, and important tasks may be forgotten when we are busy or our phones are on silent mode.

This inspired us to create Taskora — Stay on Track. Never Miss a Thing. Our vision is to make everyday task management smarter by combining intelligent reminders, priority-based alerts, and location-based notifications.

What it does

Taskora is a smart task and reminder application designed to help users stay organized and remember what matters most.

Smart Reminders: Create reminders for important tasks and daily activities.
Priority Alerts:** Highlight urgent tasks so users can distinguish them from ordinary reminders.
Location-Based Reminders: Get reminders based on places, such as remembering to buy groceries at a store or drink water at the gym.
Task Management:Organize tasks and keep track of upcoming activities.
User-Friendly Experience: Provide a simple, modern interface that makes managing daily responsibilities easier.

Our long-term vision is to support more reliable alerts for critical tasks, subject to Android's notification permissions and system restrictions.

How we built it

We started by identifying common problems with traditional reminder applications and brainstorming ways to make reminders more useful in everyday life.

We then used AI-powered development tools to help design and build the initial application experience. We focused on a clean interface, straightforward task management, and the core concept of priority-based and location-aware reminders.

Our approach was to turn an everyday problem into a practical solution while learning how AI-assisted development can accelerate the process of building an application.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was translating our idea into a functional application while learning the development process.

Understanding how reminders and notifications work on Android.
Exploring how location-based triggers could make reminders more context-aware.
Designing a simple interface without making the application feel complicated.
Understanding Android restrictions around silent mode, Do Not Disturb, background execution, and notification permissions.
Learning how to test the application and identify the gap between a prototype and a fully functional product.

These challenges helped us recognize the importance of testing, platform compatibility, and responsible permission handling.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have transformed a simple everyday problem into an application concept with the potential to make people's lives more organized.

Taskora brings together task management, priority-based reminders, and location-aware notifications in one vision. We are also proud of exploring AI-assisted development and taking steps toward building a practical technology solution as learners.

Most importantly, Taskora represents our belief that technology should not just remind us of things — it should help us focus on what truly matters.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to approach a real-world problem, break it into manageable features, and use AI-powered tools to support application development.

We also gained a better understanding of user experience, notification permissions, location-based functionality, and the challenges of developing for Android.

This experience taught us that building an application is not only about writing code or designing screens. It is about understanding users, validating ideas, testing functionality, and continuously improving the solution.
