Inspiration

Personal experience that we've had planning events that never seemed to worked out, and died in the group chat.

What it does

Allows you to see you friends availabilities, and how they align to yours so you can go out and plan events that suit everybody's needs.

How we built it

With Lovable, we iterated through a lot of prompts until the website was it we wanted it to be. We used Google Stich for the initial designs, backend was done using Supabase, Calendar integration and Auth was done with Google Cloud Console, and the locations were done with open street maps. The AI suggest time is powered by Google Gemini. All the data from the app is live data.

Challenges we ran into

Getting auth to work. It was super buggy and took trouble shooting. In the design stages, everyone wasn't 100% sure on the vision, so we had to dissect the idea further so everyone understood. We also had to figure out how to use everyone's various skills in the most efficient way possible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting Live Data Getting this done on time. Getting an app that we can see solving a problem that we've all experienced.

What we learned

A lot of members learnt how to use lovable. We also learnt what row level security was, and how APIs worked. We also figured out that ALL CAPS made prompts better.

What's next for Sync Up

Remuneration. Mobile compatibility Getting the google Auth verified so everyone can use it.

Just a quick note. If you try access the app and sign in with google, it won't let you in because the Calendar integration we've used is marked as "sensitive" and would have to get verified by Google before its available for public use. Currently, only certain testers have access.
