Fixed my avatars today to work with my work-around. Here's a link to try the fixed version (in a different release channel as it's after the deadline): https://www.meta.com/s/6mUyaN5bC Quick demo. I really like the way the avatars are contextual, so only parts appear that are a collision risk. This means I can still see the real people when they are not obscured, which feels more natural for communicating with them. https://youtu.be/XsDUtkYBP7U
It was such a shame Shared Spatial Anchors stopped being reliable for me (returning XR runtime errors) and I had to do a last minute rewrite that broke the avatars that depended on them. The good news is, I now have a good working work-around so if shared anchors fail in the final version I can just fallback to this approach.
