Inspiration

Emergency response in Senegal faces significant challenges, including delays due to communication barriers, difficulties in locating individuals, and inefficient case prioritization. Studies indicate that many deaths and disabilities could be prevented with better emergency management. Inspired by the potential of digital technology, we created SunuAssistance to revolutionize emergency response through Digital ID, AI, and real-time geolocation.

What it does

SunuAssistance is a multi-platform application that allows users to quickly request emergency assistance using their Digital ID. Key features include:

  • Secure Digital ID authentication via MOSIP
  • One-click emergency alerts to medical services, police, or firefighters
  • Automatic geolocation sharing for accurate response
  • AI-powered first-aid guidance while awaiting assistance
  • A real-time emergency dashboard for service providers to prioritize and respond efficiently

How we built it

We leveraged several technologies to bring SunuAssistance to life:

  • Digital ID integration using MOSIP for secure user authentication
  • Geolocation APIs (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap) for real-time tracking
  • AI chatbots utilizing NLP models for first-aid assistance
  • Mobile app development using Flutter/React Native for cross-platform compatibility
  • Cloud-based backend (Firebase or similar) for data management and real-time updates
