Inspiration
In many neighborhoods, civic issues such as broken streetlights, potholes, and waste build-up often go unreported — not because residents don't care, but because there's no simple, accessible way to voice these problems.
We wanted to create a platform that bridges this gap, giving communities the tools to raise their concerns, engage with their local environment, and actually witness change. That’s how Sawt Al-Hayy came to life — a platform where every resident can play an active role in improving their neighborhood.
What It Does
Sawt Al-Hayy is a civic reporting platform that enables users to: Submit reports with photos, geolocation, category, and description Track the status of issues (Pending, In Progress, Resolved) View all reports on a live map for full transparency Upvote other users’ reports to help prioritize what matters most
How We Built It
We built a modular web platform using: React and TypeScript for structure and reliability TailwindCSS for a clean, responsive UI A component-based design system for scalable development Static frontend architecture with planned integration for map services like OpenStreetMap The system is designed for rapid prototyping while maintaining flexibility for future scaling into a full-stack civic tech application.
