Inspiration
The Harvard College Undergraduate Council indicated that matching tutors to students was an important outstanding problem.
What it does
Our website allows both students and tutors to create accounts, as well as accounts with both functionalities. Students can express preferences for classes they would like a tutor for, and tutors can express preferences for classes they would like to tutor students in. Then the users can search for students and tutors in the classes they are interested in.
How we built it
The website is in PHP, with a MySQLi database.
Challenges we ran into
We had no prior experience with PHP or MySQLi, and we wrote the website from scratch.
