Inspiration

"Sajha Samadhan" was inspired by the need for efficient communication between citizens and government authorities in Nepal. Witnessing the frustration of individuals waiting days to report issues without resolution highlighted a significant gap in public service responsiveness.

What it does

The app acts as a digital bridge, allowing users to report local issues such as road conditions, traffic, drinking water shortages, drainage problems, electricity outages, waste management concerns, and stray animals. Users can categorize complaints, upload images, and pinpoint locations for effective government action.

How we built it

Developed using Flutter for cross-platform compatibility, the app utilizes Dart and Firebase for backend services. We implemented Provider for state management and optimized image uploads with a compression technique for faster submissions.

Challenges we ran into

Key challenges included ensuring seamless communication with various government departments and optimizing performance on lower-end devices. Balancing user-friendly design with robust functionality also proved challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created an intuitive interface that simplifies complaint submission and integrated real-time notifications. Establishing partnerships with local municipalities to facilitate direct communication has been a significant milestone.

What we learned

We learned the value of user feedback in shaping app functionality and the importance of building trust with government entities for successful collaboration.

What's next for Sajha Samadhan

We plan to introduce a reward system that recognizes users for reporting issues and providing feedback, allowing them to earn points or badges. We will also add offline functionality, enabling users to report issues without an internet connection, with local storage that syncs once connectivity is restored.
