Inspiration

I was just thinking of the different things that unite people and music was definitely one of them. Music is one thing that brings the world together irrespective of cast, language, colour, country or age. I've tempted the bring the world closer together with music. I've used this opportunity to teach music while learning it myself. While quarantined at home, this was the only musical instrument at my disposal so i thought I'd make the most of it.

What it does

As soon as the the effect picks up the Roland Go Keys Keyboard it introduces you the keys on the keyboard, it teaches you the minor and major scales and also had 2 pieces you could play along with.

How I built it

I used a target tracker with a picture of the Roland Go Keys Keyboard. I used blocks and the UI picker in Spark AR to let users go through what they want to learn, Ive used sound to demonstrate what the chords will actually sound like.

Challenges I ran into

the File was too heavy to load and my Internet connectivity was too slow. I was technically working blind other than the reference image inused on the fixed target tracker. Had to do a lot of testing (tried to) for accuracy and optimally use the patch editor.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I've always wanted to participate in a Hackathon and the fact that that i actually completed the file in the specified time is an achievement. Working on this project helped me realise the potential of AR and how it could help change lives for the better
