Inspiration
Inspiration
Road accidents can happen within seconds, but getting emergency help can take much longer. We were inspired by a simple question: What if an accident could automatically trigger the right emergency response, even when the victim cannot call for help?
This idea led us to build Rescue Path, an AI-powered emergency response system designed to reduce the communication gap between an accident and emergency assistance.
What We Built
Rescue Path uses multiple sensors to detect a possible accident and analyzes the sensor data to determine its severity. When a high-confidence accident is detected, the system starts a 20-second response check. If there is no response, it automatically triggers emergency alerts.
The system can notify:
- Family members
- Nearby police
- Ambulance services
- Nearby hospitals
It also shares the accident location and generates an AI-based accident report containing details such as accident time, location, sensor status, severity, and response status.
What We Learned
While building Rescue Path, we learned how hardware sensor data can be connected with software and AI to create a real-world emergency solution. We also learned about real-time location handling, automated alerts, AI-based decision making, and designing a system around a critical real-world problem.
Challenges
One of our biggest challenges was designing a reliable way to distinguish a serious accident from normal vehicle movement. We also faced challenges in connecting multiple components and creating a smooth flow from accident detection → AI analysis → response check → emergency alerts → report generation.
Rescue Path is our attempt to make emergency response faster, smarter, and more automated.
Detect Fast. Alert Instantly. Save Lives.
