Inspiration
In an emergency, every second matters. We were inspired by how confusion, delayed communication, and lack of immediate first-aid guidance can make an accident situation more difficult. We wanted to build a simple solution that could guide a person and quickly connect them with the right help.
What it does
RescuePath is an AI-powered emergency response system. It provides instant first-aid guidance, helps detect emergency situations, shares the user's location, and helps alert emergency services and trusted contacts. It is designed to reduce delays and make emergency assistance faster and more accessible.
How we built it
We built RescuePath as a web-based prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. JavaScript handles the emergency-response logic and user interactions, while the Web Speech API enables voice-based interaction. The interface is designed to provide clear emergency guidance and connect users with essential assistance such as ambulance, police, family contacts, and nearby hospitals.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was designing an emergency flow that remains simple when a user may be stressed or unable to interact normally. We also faced challenges in implementing voice interaction, handling emergency actions through a web prototype, and designing a clear interface without overwhelming the user with too much information.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of turning our idea into a functional prototype with an emergency-focused interface and voice-first interaction. We successfully combined emergency guidance, location sharing, alerts, and assistance options into one platform. Most importantly, we created RescuePath with a clear purpose: helping people get assistance faster during critical moments.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how to convert a real-world problem into a practical technology solution. We improved our skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web APIs, user-interface design, and problem-solving. We also learned that in emergency applications, simplicity, speed, reliability, and accessibility are just as important as advanced technology.
What's next for RescuePath
Our next goal is to make RescuePath more reliable and scalable by integrating verified emergency-service APIs, real-time location sharing, hospital and ambulance availability, stronger AI assistance, and mobile support. We also aim to explore sensor-based accident detection and multilingual voice assistance to make RescuePath useful for more people and real-world emergency scenarios.
