Remote workers: think line-workers, rescue workers, or environmental conservation crews. What do they have in common? They work in places where cellular connectivity is unreliable. Yet, these places are the exact environments where reliability matters the most.

Relay began with a simple question: what if losing connectivity did not mean losing access to critical job site information?

Relay is an offline-first coordination and safety platform for remote crews.

A supervisor creates a mission and shares a secure six-digit code. As workers join, Mission Control displays the crew, assigned work, and progress. Supervisors can assign tasks to individuals or groups, set locations and deadlines, create checklists, and monitor completed steps.

Downloadable field packages provide everything a crew needs for a job, including task briefs, maps, procedures, hazards, manuals, and local knowledge. Leveraging the on-device Apple Intelligence assistant, Relay delivers private, context-aware guidance through text, voice, and photo analysis.

Relay works without internet access. Using Apple’s built-in peer-to-peer technologies, supervisors can distribute tasks and communicate directly with nearby workers. Everything is run privately on-device and securely encrypted; proprietary data stays on proprietary devices.

Beyond this, Relay also provides:

  • Offline maps, routes, hazards, and safety zones
  • Current and last-known crew positions
  • Operational and first-aid manuals
  • An on-device Apple Intelligence assistant
  • Voice questions and streamed guidance
  • Private photo analysis using Apple Vision
  • Task notifications and progress tracking
  • Offline team messaging and attachments
