Inspiration
Firecracker celebrations and rising air pollution silently harm stray animals and homeless people. Seeing their suffering inspired us to build an AI system that doesn’t just inform, but urges people to act.
What it does
RakshaAI provides real-time AQI alerts, raises awareness about firecracker harm, and enables users to report injured animals or shelterless people to NGOs using location-based support and SOS actions.
How we built it
We built RakshaAI using Google AI Studio and Gemini, leveraging prompt-based development to generate the UI, logic, alerts, and interaction flows without manual coding.
Challenges we ran into
Designing an empathetic experience while keeping the app simple, realistic, and impactful was challenging, especially when visualizing real-world suffering responsibly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a socially meaningful AI app that blends awareness, accessibility, and action into one platform using minimal resources and time.
What we learned
AI can be a powerful tool for social good when combined with thoughtful design, ethical storytelling, and user-centered prompts.
What's next for RakshaAI
We plan to integrate NGO dashboards, multilingual voice assistance, disabled-friendly accessibility features, and wider city-level deployment.
