Inspiration

We were inspired by our own dreams and how difficult it can be to achieve them while having a busy schedule. This app was designed to guide and help anyone wanting to juggle personal projects alongside a full time job or schoolwork. It was designed with the intention of being as simple and straight forward as possible to maximize your productivity. With the assistance of PLNR and its constant persistence to keep you on track, you can be a scheduling pro!

What it does

This app allows you to create new projects and set a due date that you would want to accomplish this on. These projects can then be divided into an infinite amount of sub tasks to help organize your thoughts and keep you motivated with every small step you gain towards the final goal. Each overall project, as well as the sub tasks that it is made of, sends a notification the morning that you wished to have this task accomplished by. The project and task pages also allow for customization on what image you want to represent this task and how urgent the task currently is so that you can immediately prioritize your tasks at first glance. The project page also has an add user tab at the bottom in order to see who you are collaborating with on the project. Lastly, each project and task page allows for editing at any time and has an incomplete/ complete button at the top for easy visualization.

How we built it

We used SwiftUI to create the app as well as the interface. We also used Adobe Illustrator to make the icon and to brainstorm ideas.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into several challenges using SwiftUI because of how new it is. This led to issues with the multi-peer connectivity which is not compatible with SwiftUI without extensive workarounds.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to finish the entire app and most of what we set out to do. We throughly enjoyed making this project together!

What we learned

We learned that it can be difficult to work with newer technologies, like Swift, and that it is not best for time sensitive hacks.

What's next for PLNR

We plan on potentially finishing up the multi-peer connection in the future and eventually release it on the App Store.
