I am a 9th grade female tech innovator, competitive athlete, and student leader passionate about AI/ML and making a difference through technology and teamwork.

Inspiration I wanted to build something that makes every day pet care simpler and more supportive. Pet owners often juggle vet visits, grooming, training, playdates, and the emotional parts of pet ownership like lost and found or memorials. The goal was to bring these needs into one place so pet parents can discover services, connect with a community, and stay organized.

How I built it Google AI Studio: was the main code editor Frontend: React with TypeScript Tooling: Vite for development and builds Project structure: Pages in pages/ and reusable UI in components/ Location features: A map component to support nearby experiences AI feature: An AI chat page intended to help with pet-related questions (Gemini API) What I learned How to use Google AI Studio to accelerate development How to organize a React and TypeScript project so it stays maintainable as it grows. How to think in terms of user journeys and flows, not just individual pages. How important a clean Git workflow is for shipping changes smoothly. Leverage Gemini AI capabilities to build high value offerings Challenges I faced Scope management:There are many directions a pet care app can take, so prioritizing was challenging. Consistency: Keeping UI patterns and shared types consistent across many pages took ongoing cleanup. Integrations: Features like maps and AI require extra setup and careful handling of edge cases. Gemini Integration Gemini was critical to your project because it enabled instant AI chat support, added a safety/moderation layer to prevent harmful or inappropriate guidance, and provided smart pet-care recommendations that personalize help and connect users to key app features (services, events, adoption, lost & found, playdates)
