Inspiration
Social media was meant to connect us, but in now days people are surrounded by misinformation, social pressure, and so much more that prevents them from connecting with each other in a healthy way. our team wanted to develop a new form of online interaction that could feel like it prioritized authentic connection, emotional safety, and sensory experience over metrics and algorithms.
What it does
Pana is a new kind of social platform that lets users share immersive, sensory-driven experiences, people engaged through verified creators, and content that's transparently classified for safety.
How we built it
We examined the success factors of other social media platforms, and we conduct user research to get more idea of what our target audience expected to have as an app, after that, we ideate solutions that both encourages positive growth and communication, yet ensuring safety and quality experience.
Challenges we ran into
Balance authenticity and privacy while verifying creators, designing social interactions that feel natural, implementing content classification that's both user-friendly and transparent, building features without overwhelming users of increasing screen time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Designing a clean interface that encourages mindful engagement, developing an interactive environment that allows people to share their senses in a healthy and safe way.
What we learned
We learned that online interaction doesn't come from more features, rather, it comes from intentional design, we found ways that technology can support social bonds.
What's next for Pana
Introduce multi-sensory sharing tools for better experiences, do more user research about what they expect to be an authentic digital environment, collaborate with digital wellness researchers, launch a beta version with more features for our users to explore.
