What is NUMPHABET?

NUMPHABET is a puzzle game that connects letters and numbers.

The basic rule is simple: A = 1, B = 2, all the way to Z = 26. Tap the number cards that match each letter of the displayed word, from left to right. For example, “CAT” becomes 3 → 1 → 20.

Start with Easy mode and get a feel for turning letters into numbers. When you’re ready, take on Normal and Hard. These modes introduce special cards—including calculation cards and reverse-alphabet cards—along with longer words, creating increasingly challenging puzzles.

Inspiration

I wanted to create a puzzle game that people around the world could enjoy: simple to learn, but challenging enough to make you think.

My goal was to capture the satisfaction of finding the right answer and the rush of solving one letter after another as you improve. By combining a simple letter-to-number rule with calculations and reverse-alphabet mechanics, I aimed to give players more to think about while keeping the controls as simple as a tap.

Designed for lasting enjoyment

I introduced a stamina system to encourage players to enjoy improving over time, rather than playing so much at once that they burn out.

By creating natural breaks between sessions, I aimed to make short play sessions satisfying and give players a reason to return feeling ready for more.

Built with

NUMPHABET is built with Flutter, with a backend powered by Cloudflare Workers. In-app purchases are integrated through RevenueCat.

Scores are also validated on the server to help keep competition fair.
