What is the problem your solution addresses? (150-word limit)
For those who are busy, it can be challenging to plan a trip. Common frustrations are a lack of time to plan and limited knowledge of travel destinations. When traveling, many want to be able to properly connect with the people and the locations that they visit.
Why did you pick this solution, and how does it address the problem? (150-word limit)
When people are tired of their busy lives, they want to go somewhere. But travel planning requires a significant amount of time, effort, and research, which can make it challenging for many people. Our app simplifies travel planning with a trip-matching system that finds the perfect and instant trip for you, based on your interests, budget, and preferences. No need to trip and plan alone - plan your trip with ease and confidence.
Inspiration
We were inspired by the common frustrations of the people around us, as well as case studies of various apps that provide visually interesting user interfaces.
What it does
Experienced and new users can connect, and interact with each other and explore activity options effortlessly through user reviews and chats. Through the search features, users can discover activities to plan the perfect trip.
How we built it
We first went to brainstorm on Miro by collaboratively collecting general insights to land on a potential app idea. We then began building our wireframes, user flows, and user persona on Figma from our insights. Once the foundation was complete we implemented a design style to our 6+ frames to the prototype.
Challenges we ran into
Given the limited timeframe, we faced the challenge of allocating research data to inform our wireframes and leaving sufficient time for designing and prototyping. Nevertheless, our team collaborated efficiently, ensuring that each step was given enough attention.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully working together as a team to create a design solution we are all proud of. Despite time constraints, we developed a dynamic user experience that addresses a problem we discovered.
What we learned
We learned how to use our style guide effectively. Each person worked on different screens, and using our style guide, we were able to create a consistent brand style throughout the app. We also learned about how to use Figma’s animation features to develop a dynamic user experience.
What's next for Nomady
For future updates, we plan to flesh out the entirety of the app. We are looking forward to more user-centric pages, such as a favorite activities page. We also want our users to proudly display their earned badges, meaning that we need to design how others’ profiles are displayed. Finally, we would want unique animations that we would create with Adobe After Effects.
