Inspiration

Women are often under-represented in the academic and professional fields of engineering however, many females have contributed to the diverse fields of engineering historically and currently. A number of organizations and programs have been created to understand and overcome this tradition of gender disparity. Some have decried this gender gap, saying that it indicates the absence of potential talent. Though the gender gap as a whole is narrowing, there is still a growing gap with the minority women compared to their male counterparts. Gender stereotypes, low rates of female engineering students, and engineering culture are factors that contribute to the current situation where men are dominated in the engineering field. So with the help of technology, we can break the stereotypes and help woman emotionally, and empowering them with the required tools and resources.

What it does

NARI is a web app that aims at building an emerging and enhancing interactive community where women will be encouraged and thus empowered in terms of their emotional aspects. NARI builds a community where women can read blogs as well as videos and thus empower themselves. Moreover, it has DIDI which is a very interactive chatbot for consulting about their career opportunities. NARI has an interactive SOS So that one can use it when feeling unsafe in any unknown area. An interactive map will provide them info regarding the nearest police stations, hospitals, and some reliable places. It is a platform that facilitates them with a virtual guide(chatbot) that provides them a link to find and thus connect to their mates, and so forming a community along with all the security features that include emergency caretakers and panic buttons.

How we built it

Proposed approach - we try to build a community where a woman can empower them and it's just like a community where a woman supporting another woman The frontend part is created with react.js and bootstrap it is divided into the following components The article, Article list, Dashboard, login page, Mainpage, map, Nari chatbot, Profile, register, safety, and URL file, and backend is build made with Node.js, Express.js, Database: MongoDB. we have used JSON web tokens for authentication and Google map API for adding google map information and to keep location tracking i.e sending location we have used geolocation API, then we integrated both front end and backend together and used react routers for accomplishing client-side rendering for different routes different component is rendered
Here is a list of some key features that we have included keeping in mind the required concerns: Mood Checker, Safety Tracker, Interactive blog writer:- Padhega India Tabhi to Badhega India, DIDI: Personalized ChatBot available 24*7

Challenges we ran into

The first challenge was to decide the tech stack as my teammate does backend in python so we decided to use MERN stack at the end, then the second challenge is providing authentication as login and signup pages do not provide authenticity, all component does not work well the user cannot send the text messages or use the phone number provided we were not able to use Twilio API perfectly and there is also a problem in connecting with database MongoDB so its really challenging for us to complete this project in a limited time also due to lack of communication its difficult to meet the deadline

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Nari is all about support. We're proud to develop an app that supports a community that is full of women who have also felt alone, need help with resources, battled depression or living with anxiety and needed somewhere safe to talk. Nari is a positive community where women get help with a tech career and have real conversations about how they feel - lonely, misunderstood, unhappy, or actually feeling alright.

We're proud that women can seek support for the bad times, but also celebrate the good ones on our app. Women, their thoughts, their feelings are important - don't keep them bottled up.

What we learned

As we divided the task for building different components of the frontend and connecting it with the database, I get to know more about react.js as I get to explore more about the front end we learned that we should Evaluate each portion of the project scope to ensure that you understand and resolve any perceived discrepancies. we learned project scheduling is important and to meet the deadlines, communication is the key, how project meeting is crucial, and to complete the project in the limited time frame

What's next for Nari-shakti

Nowadays almost everyone is active on social media and it's a great place for individuals to grow but at the same time, it also has some risks in terms of security. Women are not safe on the internet and they are neglected if its usefulness to prevent this we can create a social media site for the woman community as Social media allows individuals to keep in touch with friends and extended family. They will use various social media applications to network and find career opportunities, connect with people across the globe with like-minded interests, and share their own thoughts, feelings, and insights online. They can chat online make friends and it can be extended across the globe to connect the woman with each other and provide them a safe and secure way to communicate with each other and console each other this social media site can be integrated with Nari-web app and will provide new features
