Inspiration

Inspired during the 2020 global Coronavirus pandemic, MusicBox was ideated in hopes to bridge the gaps created by social distancing. While office workers, news anchors, and even students moved their lives into the home, the entertainment industry was heavily impacted.

MusicBox works towards providing a connection between artists and fans amidst the current harsh circumstances caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. MusicBox strives to produce high-quality content for fans and artists alike who have been unable to experience the togetherness of in-person concerts and events. We were inspired by Kiswe, a Korean streaming platform exclusively used by BTS (Korean pop music boy group) for their live concerts.

What it does

MusicBox is a live concert streaming browser application.

How I built it

We used Figma to prototype the musicbox streaming platform for desktops.

Challenges I ran into

Our challenge was editing the demo video because our editing software did not initially upload the full demo video for us to edit.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Although we both have coding experience, we do not consider ourselves proficient coders. We decided to participate in DubHacks 2020 for the experience and were not expecting to get so far with the project we created.

What I learned

We learned through our experiences with this hackathon as well as another we did together in the past that we should submit early to avoid cramming for the additional information needed on the submission page!

What's next for MusicBox Live Concert Streaming Platform

Looking ahead within the next five years, musicbox plans to acquire partnerships with non-western artists. Additionally, we hope to include different camera angles of our live streams allowing fans to possibly get a 360-degree view of their artist.
