Following an internal chat, we’ve decided to upgrade our login system by integrating Google Authentication via the OAuth 2.0 framework. This update means users can sign in instantly using just their Gmail accounts, giving everyone a smooth, 1-click experience right from the start. Behind the scenes, this protocol lets us hand off the heavy lifting of user verification directly to Google's trusted identity provider systems. It keeps our entire app locked down and safely validates user identities without us having to build a massive authentication engine from scratch. To get the ball rolling, our next 3 steps are to register the project in the Google Cloud Console, configure the permission screens, and generate our secure client keys. As soon as we grab those credentials, we’ll dive right into the backend setup and start linking up the development kits.
