Inspiration
We wanted to make an app that would make your life easier. Trying to track and partition our savings can be hard, so we decided to develop one app that would meet all those needs.
What it does
Makes it easy to separate our savings based on how we prioritize our different savings goals and facilitates splitting bills with your friends.
How I built it
We mocked up our idea using Adobe XD to get a working wireframe. We then decided on Firebase for authentication and the database as well as Capital One's API to access client information. Flutter was the framework used to allow for cross platform development that would allow us to target both Android and iOS platforms.
Challenges I ran into
This was our first time using Flutter and making a mobile app. Understanding how Flutter works and connecting it to all of the backend services brought a steep learning curve.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Getting the app to finally communicate with Firebase and Capital One's API and seeing the app work on our phones.
What I learned
How to build and develop cross platform mobile apps.
What's next for Money Bucket
