Inspiration
I started building MinCirkel because I wanted a better way for families to stay connected without relying on traditional social media. I wanted one place where communication, planning and everyday life could happen privately, with the family owning their own data instead of becoming the product.
What it does
MinCirkel is a Family Operating System that brings together private messaging, family circles, shared calendars, tasks, shopping lists, rewards, location sharing, video calls and AI-powered networking in one secure platform. It is designed to simplify everyday family life while keeping privacy at the core.
How I built it
I built MinCirkel using React, JavaScript, Vite, Firebase, Cloud Functions and Capacitor to support Android, iOS and the web from a shared codebase. Communication is powered by WebRTC with a peer-to-peer first architecture and secure cloud fallback when needed. OpenAI is used to build intelligent features that improve the experience without compromising user privacy.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge was building a reliable peer-to-peer communication system that works across different devices and networks while maintaining a simple experience for families. Another challenge was making sure advanced technology stays invisible to the user so the app always feels easy to use.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud that MinCirkel has grown into a complete Family Operating System instead of just another messaging app. Building a cross-platform application with private communication, AI features and peer-to-peer networking as an independent developer has been my biggest achievement.
What I learned
This project taught me how important architecture, privacy and user experience are when building products that people trust with their daily lives. I also learned how AI can support people without taking control away from them.
What's next for MinCirkel
The next step is to expand the AI capabilities, improve the peer-to-peer networking layer, continue international expansion and make the underlying technology available as a white-label platform through BridgeKit.
