Inspiration
Breast Milk Storage + Delivery Issues in The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Expiration and incorrect temperature of milk Incorrect matching of mother’s milk with baby Poor inventory management → baby runs out of milk Prioritization of nurses’ time
What it does
We created an tablet app and lo-fi hardware suggestion that work hand-in-hand with existing NICU framework in order to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of the current breast milk storage and delivery system.
How we built it
Ruby-on-rails, Adobe CC, Solidworks and Laser Cutting
Challenges we ran into
Ideation was tough- we had a very broad scope of ideas and figuring out how to implement hardware and software in a feasible scope was our hardest challenge
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our idea is extremely easy to implement. It is low cost and highly effective.
What we learned
How to work collaboratively for a long stretch of time with many different backgrounds
What's next for Milk Tracker
Hopefully people think its worthy to be implemented
