Inspiration

Every second is critical during a medical emergency, yet ambulances are frequently delayed by heavy traffic and slow driver response. Existing emergency vehicle notification systems often depend on centralized infrastructure, internet connectivity, or expensive V2X hardware, making them less effective in many real-world situations. This inspired us to develop MeshRescue, a decentralized solution that enables faster ambulance path clearance without relying on continuous internet connectivity.

What it does

MeshRescue is a decentralized emergency alert system that instantly notifies nearby vehicles when an ambulance is approaching. The system forms a dynamic mesh network using device-to-device communication, allowing emergency messages to propagate through multiple vehicles via multi-hop forwarding.

Drivers receive real-time voice alerts such as:

"Emergency vehicle approaching from behind. Please move left."

This enables drivers to react quickly without looking at their phones, improving safety and reducing ambulance delays.

How we built it

The project is designed as an Android-based application using modern mobile communication technologies.
