ManagerGym — Shipathon Product Update

ManagerGym is now live on both iOS and Android, and I’ve just completed a major quality pass for the next Android release: v1.1.0 (Build 8).

Since the initial launch, I’ve spent a lot of time going back through the parts of the product that matter most: the leadership scenarios themselves.

The new release introduces an improved character system, tighter character consistency across scenarios, and a substantial remediation of existing conversations so choices, recovery paths, scoring, and outcomes behave more realistically.

One of the biggest pieces of work was auditing scenario scoring end-to-end. Each structured conversation now goes through exhaustive path validation so the result a user sees actually matches the decisions they made.

I also added better recovery paths, so one poor decision doesn’t automatically mean failure if the manager makes credible corrective choices later.

On the engineering side, I cleaned up several bugs, fixed scenario-flow and metadata inconsistencies, improved Android R8 configuration, and verified that RevenueCat purchase and entitlement protections remain intact.

The current release candidate passes:

  • 213 automated tests
  • Flutter static analysis
  • Android release AAB build
  • Android release APK build
  • R8 validation with RevenueCat consumer rules preserved

What changed in v1.1.0

  • Improved canonical character system
  • Refined and repaired leadership scenarios
  • More realistic decision outcomes and recovery paths
  • Scoring and terminal-alignment fixes
  • Scenario-flow and metadata fixes
  • Android R8 optimization cleanup
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements
  • Extensive scenario and regression testing

The goal

ManagerGym is a place to practice difficult leadership conversations before they happen in real life.

This update is less about adding flashy features and more about making the core experience more reliable, believable, and useful.

What’s next

Final Android release QA and rollout of v1.1.0, followed by bringing the same update to iOS.

Practice leadership before it matters most.
