OUR STORY BEHIND MAMA AI GUARDIAN

Alfreda is telling: “Back in the days I had a friend and a sister like to me named Sarah, Her physical appearance was very pretty, strong and attractive at all.

One day we had a celebration for her brother’s birthday after having fun, dancing , celebrating unfortunately she began to feel a lingering fatigue and unexplained discomfort but busy with celebration activities she put off a doctor’s visit thinking it was nothing serious.

Days and days, week and weeks passed and her health condition definitely changed, symptoms grew until finally she had to visit a doctor in a hospital for check up then later after dismissed, she received a devastating phone call for results : SHE HAD CERVICAL CANCER

The diagnosis turned to Sarah’s world upside down, she felt isolated, scared and overwhelmed by the marathon of the treatments ahead (Chemotherapy, daily radiation etc).What hurt most was learning that with earlier screening her cancer might have been caught sooner sparing her much of the pain and fear.

As Sarah endured her battle , I thought other women those in remote areas of with limited access to healthcare , No education of the diseases , No support care, who might not get treatment and progress of their health until it is too late.

Inspired by Sarah’s experience, there is where I and Asha were driven to build something better as solution and that is MAMA AI Health Guardian which is smart , accessible , AI-powered tool that helps women to detect cervical risks early and easily to track the progress so other would not have to tell the same heartbreaking story. Sarah struggles became the spark that turned pain into purpose, fueling a movement to empower women with technology save lives and transform the future of women’s health and a reason inspired us to participate Nairobi Hackathon.”
