Here's the whole story:

We are developing a tool that works with an IoT mailbox to deliver a service similar to Informed Delivery. This tool focuses on enabling the customer to inform the post office about mail needing to be sent. Additionally, this system will immediately notify the user of any errors that would traditionally result in a “return to sender” situation.

The user will input the recipient address into the app. The label will be created and printed when the mail is placed in the mailbox. This will enable the system to validate the address and postage immediately. For handwritten (not pre-validated) the camera in the mailbox will check the validity of the address and notify the user of issues.

Benefits:

  • Eliminate return to sender due to:
  • Inaccurate weight
  • Invalid address
  • Insufficient postage
  • Eliminate the need for post office visit
