Inspiration
Our first idea was shot down for being too impractical, so we decided to think outside of the box and start our project outside of the atmosphere.
What it does
It serves a self sustaining outpost on the moon to be the next frontier for humanity and to heavily support further research and missions.
How we built it
We utilized the lunar soil into hexagonal structures within the Mons Huygens mountain. As for the physical part of our project, wee used a poster board and spray paint to make a scenic view of the moon in outer space. We also added a few of the hexagonal structures to help further the idea.
Challenges we ran into
A lot of research needed to be done to make sure that what we were trying to do was achievable and feasible in our time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Again a lot of research went into this and we figured out some pretty efficient ways to tackle challenges that we were going to face. Also our physical production looks really good and as a whole, explains what we are trying to do.
What we learned
Ways to approach a self sustaining agriculture on a lunar environment, along with creating a stable energy source other than solar.
What's next for Lunar Layover
We want to expand these outposts further into our solar system and hopefully beyond as well!
