Inspiration
I often have troubles sleeping. I wanted something that would help me sleep, but that is not a medication. So I looked for practices that were good for the body. The Ancient Chinese Culture has many beliefs on pressure points, also called Acupressure. Focus on these points can make the wearer sleepy in a natural way by lowering the heart rate.
How it works
There is a rubber band that wraps around the wrist and stays attached by a magnetic clasp. When worn, There is an extension of the bracelet that presses against the inside of the wrist. Pressure on this area for two to three minutes will calm the wearer and make the wearer sleepy.
Challenges I ran into
I had first wanted to make the bracelet mechanized, with the extension relieving pressure on the wrist after a set period of three minutes. However, this would take extreme programing to release and move the band, which my partner and I did not know how to do. Less complicated methods of programings were often too big to fit for a small wrist band.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud of our products logo and marketing techniques such as business cards and fliers. My parter and I know business and fashion, so we decided to work that to our advantage.
What I learned
I learned that products change over the course of the making process. Roadblocks will surface, and It just takes overcoming those road blocks.
What's next for Lullaby
Lullaby plans to explore possibilities that the market may offer.
