Inspiration

We take inspiration from new clothing brands that implement technology and encourage their consumers to use it as a form of expression and to raise awareness for the environment. We also take inspiration from technological advances and how these have always revolutionized the forms of communication between people. We ask ourselves, now that technology allows us to communicate over great distances, how could we communicate through time?

What it does

Customizable biodegradable clothes that use AR technology to reveal memories of loved ones that when discarded blossom into plants.

How we built it

The clothing would be made locally using biodegradable fabric, the patterns would be designed together with the users and printed or engraved on the fabric using standard methods or laser technology. The application would be developed using tools such as Vuforia and Unity.

Challenges we ran into

Establish a way to implant these seeds in clothing and be able to control the time in which they must germinate

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Generate a viable project idea that responds to our initial objective. Resolve technical aspects, such as application development. Establish a marketing strategy for the idea.

What we learned

The beauty of hackathons is that you can never know what's going to happen. The unpredictability makes it exciting, and a lot can go wrong. Even so, we are proud to have reached the end of the challenge with an innovative product idea that emerged with the help of each member of the team, and thus responds to our initial objective: Transform experiences.

What's next for Linen with memories

The idea motivated us from the first day. We believe that the product has the potential to generate an impact on the way we communicate with other people. A Hackathon is Just the Beginning. Currently, it is just an idea with many unanswered questions, but lines of research can be established around the project that answers these questions and helps consolidate this idea into a profitable product.
