1. Target problem statement: Give a brief on which problem will be addressed by your solution

Thalassemia patients require regular and timely blood transfusions (typically every 2–4 weeks), but finding compatible donors—especially during emergencies—is a major challenge. Lack of real-time donor availability data, manual communication, and delays in accessing blood can risk lives. Our platform aims to bridge this gap by connecting Thalassemia patients with eligible donors based on blood type, location, and last donation date, with support for emergency needs.

  1. Proposed solution: Briefly describe your idea in simple terms and explain how it is unique when compared to the existing solutions framework.

BloodLink is a real-time, AI-powered platform that: • Matches patients to the nearest eligible donors based on geolocation and blood group. • Uses AI for time-series analysis of donation history to predict donor availability. • Includes personalized transfusion tracking for patients to manage appointments, transfusion history, and reminders. • Integrates with government systems like e-RaktKosh and NGOs like Blood Warriors' Blood Bridge to expand reach and effectiveness. • Notifies previous donors when emergencies arise, if they are eligible to donate again. Uniqueness: Unlike existing static blood bank solutions, our system offers dynamic donor-patient matching, predictive analytics, and emergency geolocation-based alerts.

  1. Technology stack: what technologies, frameworks, tools would be needed?

• Frontend: React.js / HTML + CSS / Bootstrap • Backend: Node.js / Flask (Python) • Database: Firebase / MongoDB / PostgreSQL • AI/ML: Time series analysis using Python (e.g., Prophet, ARIMA) for predicting donor availability • Geolocation: Google Maps API or OpenStreetMap • Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging / Twilio SMS / Email API • Security: JWT for authentication, HTTPS, Encryption • Integration: e-RaktKosh API, Blood Warriors API (if available)

  1. Functionality: How will the user engage with this solution? Is there scope for modifications?

• For Donors: o Register, share blood group, and enable location tracking. o Receive notifications for donation requests based on eligibility (time since last donation, blood group, proximity). o Track donation history. • For Patients: o Log transfusion schedule and receive reminders. o Request emergency blood with real-time geolocation alerts to nearby eligible donors. o Access education content on Thalassemia care. • Admin: o Manage donor-patient matches. o Review logs, emergency requests, and integrate with blood bank databases. Scope for Modification: The platform can be extended to support other conditions needing blood (hemophilia, surgeries, etc.).

  1. Impact: What are the benefits of your solution and how does it impact Blood Warriors?

• Life-saving during emergencies through immediate donor matching. • Improved management of regular transfusions, reducing delays. • Empowered patients through education and tracking. • Increased recurring donations through personalized reminders. • Stronger integration with national and NGO efforts like e-RaktKosh & Blood Warriors.

  1. Challenges/constraints and risks: What are the biggest obstacles in implementing your proposed solution

• Ensuring data privacy and security of medical and location data. • Managing donor fatigue or non-responsiveness. • Verifying donor eligibility in real-time. • Integration limitations with third-party APIs or systems. • Geolocation accuracy in rural areas.

  1. Assumptions: What assumptions are you considering while building this solution?

• Donors will consent to share location and receive notifications. • APIs for e-RaktKosh or Blood Warriors are accessible or permission will be granted. • Thalassemia patients are regular platform users or supported by caregivers. • Mobile internet access is available to both donors and patients.

  1. Timeline: What do you aim to achieve during the hackathon vs what are some milestones that can be hit post hackathon?

During the Hackathon: • Build MVP (Minimum Viable Product) with: o User registration (donor/patient) o Blood group & location-based donor matching o Emergency alert feature o Basic dashboard for transfusion tracking Post Hackathon: • Add AI model for donor availability prediction • Add secure integration with national databases (e-RaktKosh) • Expand to multilingual support • Build mobile app version
