Inspiration
While traveling from home to college, I noticed ambulances often stuck at traffic signals, struggling to get through. This real-world problem inspired me to build a system that can save lives by giving ambulances priority at intersections.
What it does
-LifeLane is a smart traffic system that: -Displays live ambulance status -Simulates smart signal control to clear the way -Monitors live traffic and predicts cleared signals
How we built it
We used: -Frontend: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap -Backend: Node.js with Express.js -Mapping: OpenStreetMap for location simulation
Challenges we ran into
-Integrating real-time data with map simulation -Designing a realistic flow with limited APIs -Balancing simplicity with functional impact
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-Completed a functional simulation under time constraints -Clearly represented a real-world life-saving concept -Built a meaningful solution using only core technologies
What we learned
-How to manage time and features in a short sprint -Improved web development and map integration skills -Importance of clear visual storytelling for problem-solving
What's next for LifeLane
-AI-based traffic prediction -IoT-connected smart signals -Integration with real GPS for emergency services
