My piece is intended to portray the unity between life and death, and how they are one in the same.

Inspiration

My piece is a remix of the painting "Love is Blind" by Egun Olumide. I wanted my version to represent the unity of life and death, and how they are one in the same. Life is often so short and so fleeting, and death is often sad and feared, but even in death our legacies can live on for generations through those who we loved and who continue to love us.

How I Made It

I used illustrator to essentially redraw the painting and then fill each section with my corresponding colors fore life and death on each separate half.

What Made The Project Difficult

I currently do not own a drawing pad. To make this piece, I had to use a mouse and outline the entirety of the original image using the pen tool. This was very time consuming and tedious, as this project was essentially my main introduction to illustrator.

Why I Am Proud of the Piece

The piece turned out beautifully. The blue and white side (colors associated with life) contrasts the black and red side (colors associated with death) perfectly. The center part being purple symbolizes the unison in the theme and the shades of purple I chose do a good job of tying together a piece that for the most part, is purposefully at war with itself.
