Inspiration

Lectivo is an interactive AI-powered platform for homework support for primary school children (grades 1–4) in after-school care facilities.

What it does

The platform assists supervisors in conducting homework sessions with groups of children. It does not replace the teacher; instead, it handles the structured explanation of the material, motivates the children, and answers questions using age-appropriate language. This enables even supervisors without a background in education to provide high-quality homework support. The platform is suitable for after-school care centers and solves the problem of staff shortages.

How we built it

We have already previously built a storyboard outlining the basic functionality and characters. Based on this storyboard, we developed the application —primarily using prompt programming—within Codex and Visual Studio Code. We started with sketches, which were refined into images using ChatGPT; these images were then converted into videos, uploaded to and provided to Codex, which then developed the application step-by-step via prompts.

Challenges we ran into

The images were not created with complete accuracy; AI does not correctly understand concepts such as perspective, spatial orientation, the repetition of a specific movement, etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to organize all the data in Codex and in one single day we create the first functional demo version using AI. We saved so much time.

What we learned

It wasn't the first time we’ve used AI in a project; however, in the past, we had only employed it for smaller components. This time, AI supported the entire process—from the initial idea to the concrete product—from start to finish. It was a challenge, yet working with Codex was comparatively easy and convenient.

What's next for Lectivo

The virtual assistant for homework support - We are looking for a municipality or institution for the pilot project to test Lectivo.
