When Aditya was reading about lantern flies, he learned about their disastrous affects on natives agriculture. We decided to create a tracker map where locations of lantern flies can be recorded, so that authorities can know where to look. The program is built in HTML/JS/CSS. We both are inexperienced in HTML and related languages, but we were able to learn and achieve our goal eventually through trial and error and research. We are very proud of our work, we started with almost no experience and ended up creating a working powerful product. We learned lots of syntax, logic, and APIs. We learned about geocoding, lantern flies, and most importantly how to work together in a virtual environment. We hope to eventually improve this program so that is actually runs with a network that can be accessed by anyone to see the locations of all the flies, instead of it storing temporary values on the client.
