Inspiration
Calling SOS by phone have many difficulties like language barrier and you don't know your location. Calling SOS by smart phone application have difficulties like battery charger and the knowledge how to use the app. So calling SOS by single hardware button press would save a life.
What it does
SOSBox unit helps to call Medical aid or Police immediately by a single hardware buttons press and RFID card that send a request through GSM carrier (Data SIM card). Field medic / policeman that have SOSBox application can get notifications with patient detailed co-ordinates and full personal information including his medical history.
How we built it
SOSBox Hardware unit:
1) Design PCB layout: by creating the electronic circuit schematic and printed circuit board.
2) Embedded SW: by implementing Embedded C IOT stack using MQTT protocol and GSM stak.
3) Design Mechanical enclosure: by Creating a 3d and 2d Model design.
4) Implement Mechanical enclosure prototype: by Creating 3d printed Model.
SOSBox Android Application:
1) Create Database and design back end logic.
2) Implement back end logic and test it.
3) Design the application UI/UX.
4) Design front end logic.
5) Implement designed front end logic and test it.
Challenges we ran into
We can not bring hardware unit and tools because of some aviation rules in Egypt.
Create multi-nationalities team.

Short term :
Create second prototype from hardware unit.
Create Beta version from the android application.
Long term :
Create IOS / windows App.
Create hardware unit that support WiFi / Ethernet connection.
Add more language to app (Arabic / French/ German).
