Inspiration
With growing public awareness over plastics, animal testing, water pollution, transparency, traceability and sustainability are keys to the modern consumer of skincare products. Consumers(we included) feel overwhelmed by the variety of products on the market. Social media and influencers are often misleading and lead to the wrong choice when selecting skincare products. Users don't know how to properly combine various skincare products and lack knowledge of product ingredients
Our goal is to help the users identify the skin concerns and the appropriate care products that are in line with their ethical priorities: transparent brands, traceable materials and sustainable products.
What it does
Kleanq is a web application that allows users to scan their face and skincare products by using AI technology to receive customized skincare advice and purchase the suggested products online.
How we built it
- Problem space research
- Synthesis research findings and developing proto-persona
- Ideation, concept development and wireframing
- Prototyping and internal user testings
Challenges we ran into
- Tackling a problem space under time constraints
- Refining the task flow for the optimal solution
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of developing the concept in a problem space that we were not familiar with and finding a solution for it.
What we learned
- Learning to prioritize under time constraints.
- Narrowing down a solution and implementing it within a limited timeframe
- Less is more. It is important to reduce complexity and focus on usability
- Leveraging team members' skills
What's next for Kleanq
Further refining the prototype and collaborating with developers.
