InVoke

Inspiration

There are a lot of events/emergencies happening nearby where not 100% of people know about immediately, although they know immediately about events taking place far away from them. We need a platform to connect all people only for emergencies or seeking immediate help.

What it does

It allows for posting InVokes about emergencies, events, or seeking help. These InVokes are to be sent to all nearby people to take further actions depending on the priority measure that is calculated by platform. Notifications priority ranges from 1 to 5 depending on the radial distance from the event happening and the area of effect of the event.

How we built it

We used MERN-stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJs, NodeJs) to build the REST-APIs, the authentication, and the Front-end

Challenges we ran into

Developing a good usable prototype by time. But we solved it by developing a simple part of each feature.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We could build a usable front-end app with a very good REST-APIs that does exactly what we planned for.

What we learned

We learned using GeoJSON, maps, and indexing database based on location.

What's next for InVoke

Predicting future events/emergencies or people in need for help
Data analysis can be used in the future to find patterns and help in machine learning models
Boosting data accessibility for the right audience
