Sept 19: A major component of our project revolves around the ability to measure temperature. Seems like there are plenty of cheap thermometers that can measure low temperature online but we are concerned about shipping costs and timeline. If we had more time to prepare, buying online could be a much cheaper alternative, however we decided to shop locally. We bought a cheap cooking thermometer that will do the job fine! The other materials for the kit are easy to procure and relatively cheap too!
