With the pandemic it has been shown that community needs to stay united in these uncertain times. That's why I created community hacks which is meant to bring communities together and put them on the same page. I love that my community has so many events, but sometimes it's hard to keep track of them all on different websites. That's what inspired my project.
What it does
My project allows for members of the community to add events, volunteer opportunities, and things to do around town. This way people can access events all in one place. It also gives the city history and local businesses to learn more about the city. Whether you live in the city or are just visiting it's informing on what's going on.
How I built it
I built it using adobe xd. I wanted to design a website using adobe xd, canva, and adobe illustrator.
Challenges I ran into
Time was a big factor. I wanted to attend a lot of workshops and network, but also needed time to work on the project.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Finishing the project. I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish on my own, but I was able to pull through.
What I learned
Developing an idea is always hard for me so I liked attending the workshops that helped me develop my ideas.
What's next for Hey Neighbor
I hope to develop it into an actual website and maybe implement it into communties.
